Bangladesh’s Gas-Driven Energy Shift
Bangladesh’s energy transition is fundamentally a gas story. The country has committed to replacing biomass and coal with cleaner LPG and LNG across residential, industrial, and commercial applications. LPG consumption is growing at 12-15% annually, driven by a rising middle class, government subsidies, and the expansion of the formal gas grid. LNG is positioned as the critical bridge fuel for industrial power generation as domestic natural gas reserves decline.
